She didn't just have to win. She had to prove she deserved to win.
On 9th August 2026, at the Asian Supreme Drum Competition (ASDC) 2026 in Singapore, Mikaela Agilan was crowned Top Prize Gold Winner for the Rockschool Grade 2 Category.
For most competitors, the pressure is the Judges. For Mikaela, the pressure has a name: Agilan.
As the daughter of Joshua Agilan, founder of Drumstruck Studios - School of Contemporary Music, every eye in the room watches a little closer. Is it Talent? Or is it the Surname?
This Gold answers that question loudly.
A Champion Defending Her Title, Not Just Winning One.
This wasn't Mikaela's first time on the ASDC stage.
In 2025, she made her competition debut and won Champion for the Grade 1 category. Many young winners stop there, comfortable with one trophy.
Mikaela moved up. She chose the harder grade, harder pieces and tougher expectations.
In 2026, she returned to compete in Grade 2 - a category where musicality, not just chops, is judged. And she didn't just win Gold. She won Top Prize Gold Award, the highest honour for the category, beating other drummers beyond her age from across Asia.
Back to back champion. Two different grades. Two years in a row.
More Than a Founder's Daughter
Being the founder's daughter doesn't give you an easier path at Drumstruck. It gives you a harder one.
The same standard we set for our slogan - "OTHERS DREAM OF SUCCESS, WE MAKE IT HAPPEN!" - is lived at home. No shortcuts. No extra rehearsals from Dad. Just hours of metronome work, blistered hands and earning her place in the same practice studios as every other student of Drumstruck Studios.
Her certificate says "Certificate of Distinction - Top Prize Winner - Asian Supreme Drum Competition 2026." But what it really says is: She earned it.
We are incredibly proud of you, Mikaela. Not because you carry the name, but because you honour it.
Congratulations on your Top Prize Gold Award, Grade 2 Champion!
