Some students look for a Drum School near their home. Damian Bernardelli looked for a Teacher.
On 9th August 2026, at the Asian Supreme Drum Competition (ASDC) 2026 held in Singapore, Damian Bernardelli was announced as the Top Prize Gold Award Winner for Rockschool Grade 3 Category.
What makes his win extraordinary is not just the trophy, it's the timeline!
The Student Who Crossed Borders to Find His Teacher
Damian is based in Kuala Lumpur. He had competed in ASDC multiple times before but had never won an award.
He knew he needed more than just practice. He needed the right mentorship.
He specifically sought out Mr. Joshua Agilan, Master Trainer and Founder of Drumstruck Studios - School of Contemporary Music in Singapore and came under his personal tutelage.
The result? After just months of training with Mr. Joshua, Damien went from no award to Top Prize Gold Champion in Grade 3 - one of the most competitive grades in the competition.
This is not a story about years of lessons. This is a story about what happens when hunger meets the right Drum Teacher.
Double Win: From ASDC Singapore to Rockfest Johor Bahru
Damian didn't stop there. The following month, he went on to compete at Rockfest 2026 in Johor Bahru and received an Outstanding Performance Certificate proving his ASDC win was no fluke, but the start of a championship streak.
Why This Win Matters For Drumstruck Studios
At Drumstruck Studios, our slogan is OTHERS DREAM OF SUCCESS, WE MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Damian dreamed of success while in KL. He made it happen by traveling to Singapore to train with Mr. Joshua Agilan.
His journey proves our philosophy: It's not about where you come from. It's not about how many times you tried before. It's about who you train with and how badly you want it. In just months, a student who had never placed became the one everyone was trying to beat.
Congratulations, Damian! From KL to Top Prize, your dedication is the real award.
