On 8th August 2026, at the Asian Supreme Drum Competition (ASDC) 2026 in Singapore, Ayush Nakhate was announced as the Top Prize Gold Award Winner for Grade 3.
The trophy was heavy. The Certificate of Distinction was impressive. But the real victory happened months before he stepped on stage.
3 Years. 3 Competitions. Zero Awards.
Ayush is not new to ASDC. He took part 3 years in a row.
Three times he prepared. Three times he competed. Three times he went home without an award.
According to his mum, the spark was dying. He was losing interest. He didn't want to practice. The drums that once excited him were becoming a chore. Like many parents, she faced a choice: force him to continue or let him quit.
She chose a third option: change the Teacher.

And lo and behold, everything changed.
Under Mr. Joshua's tutelage, Ayush didn't just improve, he transformed. The boy who didn't want to practice started practicing like crazy. The boy who was losing motivation became obsessed with getting it right.
In just months of training under Mr. Joshua Agilan, Ayush won his first ever award — and it wasn't just any award. It was Top Prize Gold for Grade 3 at ASDC 2026.
